Rescheduled Program: How to Prepare Your Garden for Fall

With Fall, our gardens take on new life. Please join the Friends of Peebles Island on 10/18 at 6:30 pm for a talk on perennial gardening. Presented by Stacy Simmons, manager at Brookside Nursery in Ballston Spa. As an expert in the seasonal changes our gardens face, Stacy will discuss late-season perennials & shrubs for our "zone." She will include native plants, familiar plants, and under-used plants. Stacy will go over tips for preparing our gardens for winter! The presentation will be in the Peebles Island Visitor Center and is free and open to the public

Saying NO to Invasive Species

On 10/18, at 5:30 pm at the Peebles Island Visitor Center, Emma Antolos, Invasive Species Education & Outreach Coordinator, NYSEnCon, will present a program on non-native species (a/k/a invasive species). These species reside in our area & can cause harm to our health, environment, & economy. Learn to identify these species in your neighborhood & what you can do to stop their spread. Sponsored by the Friends of Peebles Island State Park, this program is free & open to the public. Check out their webpage and Facebook pages for updates.
